AT&T's U-Verse gets a well-executed dramatic treatment in two 60-second spots from BBDO New York. A character who's a proxy for the AT&T U-Verse user is inserted into highly realistic dramas to show how real life can intrude on TV fiction.
AT&T U-Verse announced today that it has come to an agreement with CBS on carriage deals for CBS-owned and -operated stations. Terms of the deal, which also covers CBS-owned cable channels, were not released.
"We are pleased to have reached these comprehensive renewal agreements which recognize the value our stations and our cable channels bring to AT&T's U-verse service and to the audiences we share," said CBS' Martin Franks.
AT&T will introduce digital-telephone service to accompany its U-verse network in Connecticut today, only the second market where it has combined video and voice services. AT&T's VoIP customers can integrate land-line phones with high-speed Internet, cell phone and their U-verse services.
AT&T's U-verse service, which delivers TV programs over an Internet connection, hit a snag over the weekend when an outage affected all 33 markets in which it is available. AT&T is still investigating the U-verse glitch.
AT&T's U-verse and Internet customers can now use their wireless phones and other devices to remotely program their DVRs. AT&T announced that the mobile functions include the ability to search U-verse's program listings, schedule program recordings and manage DVR content.
