Andrew McLean, the ex-worldwide chief business development officer at WPP's GroupM, has been named U.S. CEO of Omnicom Group's PHD. He succeeds Scott Hagedorn, who is shifting to Omnicom's Media Group to lead the Annalect Group, a new unit for digital and data analytics.
Aegis' Carat, following a review, reportedly has been named by OSI Restaurant Partners, whose chains include Outback Steakhouse and Carrabba's Italian Grill, to handle media chores on its ad account. Finalists for the business were WPP Group's MindShare and independent Horizon Media, both New York. Joint incumbents Havas' MPG, New York, and independent Doner, in Southfield, Mich., decided not to defend the business.
Interpublic Group reportedly is in the final stages of negotiations to take over branded-entertainment shop Translation Consulting and Brand Imaging, New York, for an undisclosed amount. Neither the agency's owner, Steve Stoute, nor Interpublic, would comment on the pending deal.
MDC Partners' Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Miami, fresh from landing Domino's Pizza's national creative business last month, has added general-market media planning duties for the account. Media-buying chores for the pizza delivery chain remain with WPP Group's MindShare, which had been doing double duty with planning for the past few months.
