The FDA in 2005 prohibited the use of the Pap-Ion Magnetic Inductor, or the PAP-IMI, a machine that delivers electromagnetic waves to repair damaged cells and treat cancer, due to its link to patient injuries and death. A study by The Seattle Times found that the device is still being used in at least five states, and the agency has failed to issue a warning to the public on the danger of the device.
