Sixense, which specializes in motion controllers for virtual-reality environments, has released the SixenseVR software development kit, with an eye toward giving people who are not programmers the opportunity to create VR games. The SDK integrates into the Unity and Unreal Engine game engines, two widely used platforms.
LG Electronics on Thursday brought out the open-source Connect software development kit, hoping to encourage developers to create applications linking its Internet-connected televisions with mobile devices. In addition to LG TVs, the SDK supports the Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast and Roku 3 devices, according to LG.
Two SDK offerings have been released for download by Airpush. The Standard SDK and Bundled SDK Program feature new revenue source capabilities and Play Store compliance. More than 100,000 applications use the Airpush SDK and developers can receive weekly payments.
