Residential building contracts in Columbus, Ohio, were down in March, compared to the same month a year ago, but a rise in commercial construction contracts helped level things out, with totals falling only 2% below contract totals for March of 2007. While residential contracts dropped by 43%, from $105.7 million in March 2007 to $60.4 million this year, commercial contracts increased 29%, from $140.8 million last year to $181.1 million this year.
