Scientists with the FDA say in a new report that despite public concern, the trace amounts of bisphenol A that migrate out from plastic containers do not pose a health risk to infants or adults. The agency added that more research is needed, but the American Chemistry Council welcomed the report. "FDA is the government agency we rely upon to assess food-contact products. They've assessed this issue in great detail and their conclusion is very reassuring," said Steve Hentges, an executive director with the ACC.
