New Jersey family nurse practitioner Rachel Jones created a series of safe-sex soap operas to help educate women about the risks of HIV/AIDS. Jones, who teaches at Rutgers University's College of Nursing in Newark, says women who watched the pilot video online became "upset, angry, exacerbated" because they saw themselves in the skits. The next step is to use a $2 million NIH grant to test the effectiveness of the campaign when women view the soap operas on their cell phones.
