Mike Duke took over as CEO of Wal-Mart on Sunday, and hopes are high that he will prove to be cut from the same leadership cloth as his predecessor, H. Lee Scott Jr. Duke, as the executive who oversaw Wal-Mart's push into overseas markets, isn't afraid of bold action: He pulled out of Germany and South Korea because they weren't profitable and forged ahead in Japan and India. "He's a good communicator, a hard worker, and his track record at international was very impressive," said board member Allen Questrom.
