A Freightliner plant in Mount Holly, N.C., has won a contract to make trucks for the Coca-Cola Co. In January, Daimler Trucks North America announced plans to idle the plant, but the company says 120 employees will stay on to make about four trucks a day.
A hotter-than-usual summer is predicted for India, which could boost sales of ice cream and beverages. "Soft drinks still have a strong seasonality curve in India; a warm climate should help our business further," a Coca-Cola India spokesman said.
PepsiCo has teamed with Twitter to display tweets from the South by Southwest conference and festival on Pepsicozeitgeist.com. The site will include features such as a map showing where the tweets are originating.
Jones Soda wants to increase distribution and spread awareness of its drinks to children. "We need to bring new young kids into the franchise, and that's going to include a lot of trial," CEO Stephen Jones said.
