Federal Reserve officials, who are coming to the end of a two-day meeting, are faced with improving economic conditions. The recovery prospects may cause the Fed to hold off on actions such as increasing purchases of mortgage securities and Treasuries. "There wouldn't be a case for new moves unless the economy appeared to be deteriorating at a faster clip, and the opposite is the case since the last meeting," said Lyle Gramley, a former Federal Reserve governor.
