Two Yale researchers will receive $125,000 from the Michael J. Fox Foundation to develop a more efficient way of delivering drugs to the areas of the brain affected by Parkinson's disease. Their work involves the use of new imaging methods that will allow for tracking the movement of molecules in living animals' brains. "We anticipate that our results will provide the basis for the design of new approaches for drug delivery in patients with Parkinson's disease," one researcher said.
