Franchises can be a tough sell amid the tight credit market, but franchisors such as A&W Restaurants are working hard to continue signing franchisees. A&W is communicating with potential owners about the value its brands represent. "We're seeing a lot of franchisors really just get back to basics. I mean, now is the time to really make sure you are proving your value proposition to those prospective franchisees," said International Franchise Association spokeswoman Alisa Harrison.
