The NIH awarded Q Therapeutics a $5 million grant to work on securing FDA clearance to conduct human clinical trials of Q-cells, a stem cell therapy that can treat paralysis and other neurodegenerative illnesses such as Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. The company is working with the University of Utah's Cell Therapy Facility and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to further investigate the drug.
