Saying Time Warner and Comcast are trying to convert the Internet "into their own private cable channel," Gigi Sohn, president of media watchdog Public Knowledge, is calling for a federal antitrust probe of the cablers' joint plan to require viewers of certain online TV content to show proof of a paid cable, satellite or telephone subscription service. Time Warner has named its initiative TV Everywhere, while Comcast calls it OnDemand Online, "It is obvious TV Everywhere is not TV for everyone," Sohn said.
