Air pollution levels in Kane County, Ill., are similar to most other places around the country, according to a report from the EPA. The National Scale Air Toxics Assessment, released every three years, found that the cancer risk to residents from toxins in the air is about 37 in 1 million, compared with the national average of 36 in 1 million and with the regional high of 51 in 1 million registered in Cook County, where Chicago is located.
