Weis Markets has begun a 90-day price freeze on more than 1,300 branded and private-label products across categories including grocery, frozen, dairy, meat, health, beauty and general merchandise. This is the 11th time the retailer has instituted a freeze since beginning the policy in 2009.
Weis Markets has decided to cut prices again, according to the company's CEO. Shelf prices on 2,600 staple items have been lowered, some by up to 48%, with the new prices remaining in place until April.
SUPERVALU has added four tart frozen yogurts and six ice cream desserts to its private-label offerings. The Stone Ridge Creamery yogurts and Culinary Circle ice cream desserts are available at SUPERVALU stores at lower price points compared with national brands.
Weis Markets is freezing thousands of private-label and brand-name items at recently reduced prices until April 1. The program is being promoted in print, radio and TV ads, along with Price Freeze shelf tags.
