Among other achievements, Sen. Edward Kennedy will be remembered for his early advocacy for people with disabilities. Kennedy, who died Tuesday at age 77, was an original co-sponsor of a 1975 bill that later became the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. In 1990, he was a chief sponsor of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which established equal access to jobs and public facilities.
