Fourth-grade students from Hershey, Pa. virtually attended class with students from Ghana on Monday in The Hershey Story museum's Chocolate Lab. The class, which taught the students how cocoa beans from Ghana become chocolate bars in Pennsylvania, is part of a virtual classroom initiative Hershey began in October. "When I learned ... we could do something like this at low cost, I thought it would be a great way to bring the Milton Hershey School together with kids in Ghana," said Andy McCormick, the company's vice president of public affairs.
ChoCo'a Boutique in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is reopening behind the Mall of the Emirates. It also is launching a new collection of dark chocolates, Java Single Origin Chocolates, in several flavors.
Pennsylvania officials have cleared The Hershey Co. to build a 102,500-square-foot addition that would extend its existing 1.2 million-square-foot warehouse. The addition is part of the company's effort to realign its warehousing facilities and could create 20 to 40 new jobs, Hershey's director of state and government relations said.
