Raytheon Co. believes securing airport perimeters could be a $500 million business within a few years, and a $100 million contract for four New York airports is seen as a major test of the company's technology. Though other airports boast high-tech perimeter defenses, Raytheon touts its system as the first one to integrate data from multiple sources -- radar, CCT, electronic fences and so forth -- into a single command-and-control center.
