Cellular machine-to-machine module shipments posted "lackluster" growth in 2008, up just 4% year-over-year compared with 45% growth recorded in 2007, according to ABI Research, which despite the economic downturn is predicting growth of about 16% this year. Growth drivers, according to the firm, are anticipated smart-grid standards and telematics.
