Authentication initiatives under way by several cable providers that will enable subscribers to view TV content online could be made a part of Nielsen's national ratings service, but not for several years. That's according to Sara Erichson, president of Nielsen's Media Client Services for North America. In a letter to clients, she said that these so-called TV Everywhere services "could provide the best way for video content providers to monetize TV programs online," but added that "we are undertaking an extensive evaluation program before fully integrating television and Internet measurement."
