"Journalists are leaving more than other groups because the government has closed newspapers and it has intimidated and terrorized them," said a veteran journalist based in Tehran who estimates 2,000 Iranian reporters have lost their jobs and others fear retribution for reporting on government efforts to crush post-election protests.
