The controversial 22-acre Atlantic Yards project in Brooklyn, N.Y., has been cleared to go ahead by the New York State Court of Appeals. The seizure of private land for use by private developers for the project was upheld as legal in a 6-1 decision. Eventually, the $4.9 billion project could include a new arena for the New Jersey Nets, high-rise office buildings and apartments.
