Parents of a 2-year-old cerebral palsy patient who underwent an infusion of her own umbilical cord-blood stem cells said improvements were seen within two days of the procedure. This was the first time in Singapore that the procedure was undertaken to treat the condition, and the positive results could offer hope to patients in the region. The patient will continue to undergo physiotherapy and might have another transfusion in the future.
