President Barack Obama listened to ideas presented by select business and labor leaders Thursday at the White House about how to spur job creation in the small-business sector and promised to follow up next week. Obama told the assemblage that the federal government has a role in job creation but limited public dollars to commit to it. "Ultimately, true economic recovery is only going to come from the private sector," he said. Six key ideas presented during the summit were: give employers incentives to hire, create a "cash for caulkers" green-jobs initiative, increase aid to states, boost credit for small firms, expand exports and use Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to save jobs.
