The chances of passing a marriage-equality measure in New Jersey before Gov. Jon Corzine leaves office on Jan. 19 got slimmer on Monday after the General Assembly's Judiciary Committee failed to act on the legislation. But marriage advocates, at a State House rally on Monday afternoon, vowed to continue the fight, and to withdraw their support for lawmakers who do not follow through on their promises to approve the measure.
