An additional seven middle schools and 15 charter schools in the Austin, Texas, school district will have access to educational video games to help eighth-grade students prepare for the math portion of the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills -- a requirement for promotion to ninth grade. Teachers praised the DimensionM games, which were tested last summer in the district and found to help students. "What we saw next was amazing -- our students were not only succeeding but truly becoming interested in learning mathematics again," one administrator said.
