In an effort to broaden its focus on cybersecurity, HHS appointed Georgetown University professor Joy Pritts, who has background in medical information privacy, as chief privacy officer in the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT. The agency also announced plans to award a new contract to study health IT security risks, which will form the basis for crafting policies, HHS officials say.
