Gear makers, which are focusing many of their new projects on LTE technology, are developing products aimed at encouraging subscribers to use revenue-driving mobile Internet services, according to industry executives and analysts, a move led by Alcatel-Lucent's recent decision to help carriers open their networks to
drive creation of new content and services. Smaller companies, such as Beceem Communications, hope to leverage LTE technology to find a wider market.
