London-based beer producer SABMiller says it plans to merge its hotels and casinos in South Africa with rival Gold Reef Resorts in a deal that will create a $2.7 billion company that will represent one of the largest listed gambling concerns in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to SABMiller. Under the deal, SABMiller will trade its 49% share in Tsogo Sun for a 39.7% share in the larger Gold Reef.
