Multitasking is for suckers -- it's only by giving tasks our undivided attention that we can hope to avoid information overload, argues former Google Chief Information Officer Douglas Merrill. Unfortunately, many of the solutions he offers seem crafted for creative, open-minded companies like Google itself, and it's hard to see how they'd transfer to less enlightened workplaces, according to this reviewer.
