The hotel market in Miami Beach, Fla., continues to expand as developers see hopeful signs of recovery in the area. Several limited-service hotels recently opened near the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Airport, and other small hotels have opened around South Beach, with developers saying they are encouraged by improving occupancy rates. Miami-Dade County hotels saw their first gain in per-room revenue in January since August 2008, according to Smith Travel Research.
