Although it is committed to its asset-light strategy, Dow Chemical is not in a hurry to look for a basic plastics joint-venture partner this year, as cheap U.S. feedstock prices buoyed its first-quarter earnings, said Dow CEO Andrew Liveris. "The fact that this business is earning this much money has made the business more valuable, and we are definitely taking our time in structuring the right deal. ... The timing of any such deal for us will be based on maximum valuation," he added.
