Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation is becoming adopted as a treatment worldwide, but its use is more common in richer countries, according to a survey by the Worldwide Network for Blood and Marrow Transplantation. The main indications for the use of the stem cell treatment were lymphoproliferative disorders and leukemias, and most of the transplants were done in Europe, the survey showed.
