Country clubs in the Milwaukee area are taking action to shore up their membership rolls during a difficult period for the private club industry. Some have significantly cut initiation fees or offered trial memberships, but many are adding to the services they offer, overhauling their golf courses, relaxing dress codes and focusing on families. "I see us continually focusing on the family and family events. The private club industry is really about building relationships," says David Coffey, general manager of Tripoli Country Club.
