North Carolina lawmakers have blocked a statewide education policy requiring all high-school students to complete a graduation project, citing a lack of evidence that the projects improve learning. However, among the 70% of schools that already require the projects, there is support. "Real-world employers have been pleading with educational systems for years to work on more 'real-world' skills, and the senior project does just that," one educator said of the projects' benefits.
