A study of 5,800 U.S. teens found that among those who did not snack, 39% were overweight or obese, compared with 30% of those who had two snacks, 28% of those who had three and 22% of those who ate four or more snacks daily. Researchers also found that the rate of abdominal obesity was 24% among nonsnacking teens, compared with 11% in the four-snacks-a-day group.
