A report detailing environmental profiles of various plastics resins and polyurethane precursors was released by the American Chemistry Council to reveal the qualities and characteristics of such chemicals to consumers. The study, which included different grades of polymers, PVC and ABS, measured energy requirements, pollutant contents and byproducts generated by those chemicals. "As more companies seek to improve the efficiency and sustainability of their products and operations, life cycle inventory studies have become increasingly critical to their decision-making," said Keith Christman, ACC's managing director of plastics markets.
