Ratings for NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" in Q2 were down significantly, compared with 2008, and Leno's lead over CBS late-night rival David Letterman dropped to its smallest margin in 15 years; Letterman's numbers also were down. The audience erosion is being attributed to changes in technology and viewing patterns, as well as an increase in competition. Meanwhile, ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" in Q2 posted an increase of 150,000 viewers compared with 2009.
