American consumers are getting smarter about what they buy, but product eco-labeling standards remain decidedly dumb, writes Tom Szaky. People deserve better certification programs that provide meaningful information about a product's sustainable successes and failures, Szaky argues. "[W]hen people have clear information, they can make clear choices," writes Szaky.
