Some Maryland high school students are participating in an intensive foreign language program this summer that was designed by the U.S. government to promote the learning of "critical need" languages such as Mandarin Chinese, Arabic and Hindi. The STARTALK program at Howard Community College -- in its fourth year -- is focusing this year on the mystery "Murder on the Orient Express" to help bring together instruction in the different languages and cultures. The program is offering students up to four college credits for their participation.
