A study involving coronary artery disease patients with left ventricular ejection fraction of more than 35% found that using SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging data in addition to clinical history and LVEF helped identify the patients who were more at risk of sudden cardiac death. "Further validation of these findings and prospective studies should address the role of SPECT perfusion imaging for the risk stratification of SCD in patients with CAD and LVEF [greater than] 35 percent," the researchers said.
