The climate bill sponsored by Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., is projected to result in a a ton of carbon dioxide equivalent costing $14 in 2012 and $25 by 2020, according to a study issued Wednesday by the Congressional Budget Office and Joint Committee on Taxation. The carbon price estimates for the Kerry-Lieberman bill are lower than those for the Waxman-Markey and the Kerry-Boxer measures, the CBO said.
