For 15 years, a camp in Washington state has been teaching children and teenagers the Lushootseed language, spoken by Native American tribes in the Puget Sound area. The camp uses a mix of songs, painting, weaving and video games to help students learn the language, which was once nearly extinct and is slowly making a comeback. About 200 participants, ages 5 to 12, attend each year.
