A Louisiana school district is expanding its use of a computer-based literacy program to help more students who struggle with reading. Jefferson Parish tested the Fast ForWord program in four schools last year and saw an improvement in students' test scores. The program, which is used in about 6,000 schools nationwide, engages students in games that allow them to practice sequencing, memory and boost their attention skills to improve their reading.
