The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has endorsed federal guidelines recommending that girls be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus by age 11 or 12, before they become sexually active. The group also recommended that "catch-up" shots should be offered to unvaccinated teen girls and young women between the ages of 13 and 26.
