Verizon Communications will tap Verizon Wireless chief Lowell McAdam today as its president and chief operating officer, according to The Wall Street Journal. The newspaper added the telecom has settled on a string of top appointments, including chief financial officer and McAdam's successor. McAdam will become heir apparent to Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg after the recent resignation of CFO John Killian. McAdam's deputy at Verizon Wireless, Daniel Mead, is expected to replace him in that post.
