Janel Haugarth, with more than 35 years of leadership jobs at SUPERVALU, has been named executive vice president of the company, which recently sold five retail banners. She is also president of independent business and supply-chain services.
Sam Duncan has been named president and CEO of SUPERVALU, which is selling five banners. Duncan, 61, was chairman, CEO and president of OfficeMax from 2005 to 2011. He replaces Wayne Sales, SUPERVALU's president and CEO since July.
A Sam's Club near Houston has been renovated and now sells prepared meals, imported cheeses and more fresh food. The revamp, which also includes wider aisles and lower shelves, is part of a national effort to remodel 150 stores in the Wal-Mart chain.
