Likely delays in the development of private spacecraft could necessitate an extra launch of the space shuttle next year, according to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. Only two flights remain on the official manifest, though President Barack Obama has authorized an additional, "launch-on-need" mission for next June. Bolden says the extra mission would "give the commercial guys an opportunity to experience delays, as we anticipate they will, because everybody does."
