For the third time in four years, the European Food Safety Authority stated that there is no compelling scientific reason to revise the EU's daily-intake standard for bisphenol A, writes lawyer Eric F. Greenberg. Despite this, and the federal Food and Drug Administration's declaration that no scientific evidence merits banning the chemical, a lack of public acceptance of BPA could force industry to look for alternatives, Greenberg adds.
